Bulig Bisaya is a fund raising campaign by Make It Makati to provide relief and shelter to the homeless survivors of Typhoon Yolanda. It will be focusing on rebuilding efforts and will be directing its assistance to the northern part of the Iloilo province, where the devastation was just as severe as other areas but have not received that much national attention.
Specifically, it will be focusing on rehabilitating the coastal towns of Carles and Estancia so that families in the dangerous areas may be transferred to safer ground. Make It Makati’s Bulig Bisaya will be working with other partners and the local government units to help in both relief and rebuilding efforts. Furthermore, it hopes to sustain our engagement with the affected communities through livelihood assistance that will help them truly move on from this tragedy.
First on Make It Makati’s campaign is the premiere of the enchanting lights & sound show on November 20, 6pm. The proceeds of all the shows will be offered for the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda so with the funds from the donation boxes at the Ayala Triangle Gardens and the Tower One & Exchange Plaza fountain area. It is through this effort that Makati denizens can be engaged to share even the littlest amount as long as it comes from the heart. It is also at this time and season where we have the highest foot traffic, averaging 5-8,000 per night.
In addition, on Dec 9, Make It Makati Facebook launches a Send-a-Makati-Xmas-Card, which is an online initiative that aims to engage the digital community in helping the Yolanda victims. For every card shared, Make It Makati is going to donate P2 to the Bulig Bisaya campaign.
